Whidbey Citizens Climate Lobby

Saturday, June 5th, 2010
Next Speaker: Richard Littlemore, co-author Climate Cover Up.
Democracy is utterly dependent upon an electorate that is accurately informed. In promoting climate change denial (and often denying their responsibility for doing so) industry has done more than endanger the environment. It has undermined democracy.

TW Interim Board meeting Tuesday June 22 12:00-2:00 PM - TWCC conference room

Welcome to the Transition Whidbey movement!

Transition Whidbey exists to collectively increase our island community’s self-sufficiency, strengthen our resiliency, and celebrate the journey TOGETHER by building a strong sense of community cooperation and trust through working with individuals, neighborhoods, local government, local businesses, schools, churches and other groups and organizations on behalf of our shared future.

As we face the challenges of peak oil, climate change, and global economic instability, we are choosing collectively to prepare for a better NOW and a much more SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.

You’ve made it this far and yet the journey has just begun. Within this website, you can learn what Transition Whidbey is all about, you’ll catch up on what our Action Groups are up to and how to contact the coordinators, you’ll see when our next community Potluck With a Purpose is happening, find out more about what you can do to prepare for the transition, and learn ways you can get involved. Take a moment to look over our pages, contact us, and get active in the transitioning of our island community!
